Looking for Kitchen Remodeling Evergreen, San Jose?

A kitchen remodel built around how Evergreen homeowners actually live

Evergreen homes tend to have more room to work with than most other parts of San Jose. Many properties here were built from the 1970s through the early 2000s, with larger lots and layouts that leave space for a bigger island, a walk in pantry or an open kitchen that finally connects to the dining and living areas.

Morgado Building and Renovation helps Evergreen homeowners plan and complete kitchen remodels that make better use of that space. From layout changes and custom cabinetry to countertops, flooring, lighting, plumbing and appliances, we manage the full process so the project stays on track from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.

PMP-certified project management

Stronger sequencing, communication and trade coordination.

Fixed-price contracts

Tied to a defined scope of work.

Written change approval

No out-of-scope work without written homeowner approval.

Full service general contractor

Planning, construction services, installation and completion.

Many Evergreen households include multiple generations under one roof, which often shapes how a kitchen needs to work. A remodel here might mean a second prep area, extra pantry storage or a layout that keeps the cook connected to family in the next room. We plan around the way your household actually uses the space, not a generic template.

Kitchens

Evergreen kitchen remodeling with structure, precision and care

Remodeling a kitchen is one of the highest value upgrades you can make to an Evergreen home, and also one of the easiest to get wrong.

A project here can touch walls, plumbing, gas lines, electrical, lighting, cabinets, flooring, tile, countertops, appliances, ventilation, permits and multiple trades. On larger Evergreen homes the scope tends to grow rather than shrink, because there is more room to change and more decisions to make. Without proper planning that turns into delays, budget creep and a house you cannot live in for longer than you expected.

Morgado Building and Renovation is built for homeowners who want a more predictable process. Defined scope, clear communication, transparent timelines, quality work and professional project management. That means fewer surprises, better sequencing and stronger budget control.

The goal is not to cut corners. The goal is a kitchen that improves how the house functions day to day and holds its value in a neighborhood where buyers pay attention to finish quality.

Kitchens

Kitchen remodeling built around Evergreen family life

A kitchen should not just photograph well. It should work for the way your household cooks, gathers and moves.

Before any construction starts, we take time to understand your cooking habits, storage needs, appliance preferences, traffic flow and family routines. In Evergreen that conversation often goes somewhere specific. A lot of households here have multiple generations under one roof, which changes what the kitchen has to do. Two people cooking at once. Bulk prep on weekends. A layout that keeps whoever is cooking connected to the room where everyone else is sitting.

The other pattern we hear about often is remote work. A large share of Evergreen residents work from home, and the kitchen ends up doing double duty as a daytime workspace before it turns back into a kitchen at six. That affects lighting, outlet placement and how much clear counter you actually need.

A well planned Evergreen kitchen remodel can help improve:

The result is a kitchen that feels personal, practical and aligned with your vision.

Our Kitchen Renovation Process

A kitchen renovation should feel organised from the beginning.

Morgado Building and Renovation follows a structured renovation process designed to remove uncertainty and keep your project moving in the right direction.

01
Initial Inquiry & High-Level Scope
We start with a conversation about what you’re trying to accomplish. This isn’t a sales pitch, it’s a high-level review of scope, priorities, and whether we’re the right fit for your project.
What this means for you: You’re not committing to anything yet, and you’ll know quickly whether we’re worth your time before either of us invests more in it.
02
Site Visit & Information Gathering
We visit your home and dig into the details: existing conditions, access, utilities, materials, and what decisions need to be made now versus later.
What this means for you: This phase helps us identify potential issues early, so we can give you a more accurate budget and timeline instead of a guess.
03
Detailed Estimating & Scope Definition
We prepare a detailed estimate covering what’s included, what’s excluded, and what unknowns could still affect cost. We coordinate pricing with our subcontractors and suppliers, and anything you’re supplying yourself is clearly marked.
What this means for you: Any back-and-forth happens here, before the contract, not after the walls are open. That’s what keeps your final number close to your first number.
04
Agreement, Contract & Scheduling
Once scope and pricing are agreed on, we put it all in writing: final scope, payment schedule, start and finish dates. Before signing, we walk through every section together so there are no open questions.
What this means for you: Nothing starts until everything is in writing, so there’s nothing left for either of us to remember incorrectly later.
05
Design & Permitting
If design work is needed, we bring in the architect and manage the drawings and permit process so everything stays aligned with the scope and budget you already agreed to.
What this means for you: You’re not stuck managing the handoff between your architect and your contractor yourself. We keep that aligned so nothing gets designed that we can’t actually build for the price we quoted.
06
Construction
Work is done by our core team and long-term subcontractors, with daily communication on-site and weekly updates. Any changes go through a documented change order before work continues. You won’t see unfamiliar faces showing up unannounced.
What this means for you: You always know what’s happening on your project and why, and nothing changes without your sign-off first.
07
Punch List & Project Closeout
We walk the finished space with you, document anything that’s not quite right, and resolve it before calling the project done.
What this means for you: Done means done, not “done except for the list of things we’ll get to eventually.”

Why Evergreen kitchen remodels need local experience

Evergreen is not one uniform neighborhood, and that matters more than most homeowners expect.

The district covers a wide area in southeast San Jose, running from flatter suburban streets near Capitol Expressway up toward the foothill adjacent tracts near Silver Creek. There is no single Evergreen housing type. Homes were built across roughly three decades in tracts that vary by builder, era and elevation, which means the kitchen you are working with depends heavily on which pocket you are in.

Older single story homes closer to the flats often have smaller, closed off kitchens with the original 1970s footprint still intact. Those projects usually revolve around whether a wall can come out and what is hiding inside it. Larger two story homes built from the late 1980s onward, particularly around Silver Creek, tend to already have the footprint. There the work is about upgrading cabinetry, countertops and finishes to match the scale of the house rather than reconfiguring it.

Foothill adjacent properties bring their own considerations again, including slope, access for deliveries and trades, and sometimes structural questions that a flat lot never raises.

Local experience matters because each Evergreen kitchen needs to be planned around the specific house, the specific tract and the practical realities of building in this part of California. Morgado helps Evergreen homeowners work through those details with clear planning and professional oversight.

Kitchen design that works for Evergreen homes

Good kitchen design balances form and function.

Design trends come and go, but function lasts. Morgado’s focus is to create kitchens that look excellent, feel considered and work properly for daily life.

A beautiful kitchen still has to work every day. Cabinets need to sit where they make sense. Countertops need to support how you actually cook. Appliances should be placed around workflow. Lighting should make prep, cooking, cleaning and entertaining easier. In Evergreen homes with larger footprints, that balance gets more important, not less, because a big kitchen that is badly planned just means more walking.

We help homeowners think through details such as:

Custom Cabinetry, Countertops and Premium Materials

Cabinets, countertops and materials shape both the look and performance of your kitchen.

Custom cabinetry can improve storage, reduce wasted space and create a more tailored finish. Well-planned cabinets can include deep drawers, dividers, appliance storage, pantry pull-outs, hidden bins and improved access to everyday items.

Kitchen countertops also need careful consideration. Quartz countertops remain popular because they offer durability, a clean finish and a wide range of styles. Quartzite, engineered quartz, natural stone and other premium materials may also be suitable depending on your budget, style and maintenance preferences.

The right materials should support the overall design, improve functionality and hold up to everyday life.

Why choose Morgado for kitchen remodeling in Evergreen?

San Jose homeowners choose Morgado Building and Renovation because we bring structure to a process that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

Kitchen remodeling involves significant decisions, premium materials, multiple contractors, trades, timelines and work happening inside your home. You need a construction company that can manage the entire process, not just complete isolated tasks.

Morgado offers:

We are not the right fit for homeowners looking for the quickest or cheapest option. We are the right fit for homeowners who want a kitchen remodel completed with care, precision and professional oversight.

Kitchens

Kitchen Remodeling, Bathroom Remodeling and Whole-Home Projects

A kitchen renovation often connects naturally with other parts of the home.

Some homeowners begin with the kitchen and later move into bathroom remodeling, bath upgrades, flooring, painting, interior remodels, home additions or accessory dwelling unit planning. Others want to remodel several areas at the same time so the house feels more cohesive.

Morgado Building and Renovation provides construction services that can support broader remodeling needs, including kitchen and bathroom projects, interior renovations and selected home additions.

The benefit of working with a full service general contractor is that your kitchen project can be viewed as part of the whole house, not just as an isolated room.

This is especially valuable when walls, flooring, lighting, structural changes, plumbing, electrical or design decisions affect multiple spaces.

Joe and Eric helped us with a bathroom and kitchen remodel. They were easy to work with and finished the work within the agreed upon schedule. Great work and even better is that my (hard to please) wife is happy with their work.

It’s rare to find contractors who are both good at their job and easy to communicate with, but Eric is both. He wrapped up a project for us recently and the quality of work was spot-on. Wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to friends.

Morgado Construction recently completed a water leak restoration plus additional remodeling at our home: new flooring throughout, drywall, paint, and remodel of the kitchen and two bathrooms. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and responsiveness to requests across the entire project was excellent. Owner Joe Morgado is exceptionally skilled and deeply committed to doing right by his customers. His pride in his work shows in every detail. His son, Eric Morgado, manages much of the administrative and business side, and together they are outstanding communicators — clear, responsive, and consistently professional in both written and verbal communication. One thing that stood out again and again was Joe’s reputation in the trades. At multiple vendors, we heard some version of, “Oh! You’re working with Joe,” which always translated into top‑tier service. He has built strong relationships with others who share his commitment to quality, and that benefits his clients in very real ways. Joe’s project leads are still developing the same eye for detail and standard of excellence that Joe himself embodies. For that reason, I’d recommend that homeowners stay engaged with the daily progress to ensure the work reflects Joe’s high bar and get Joe involved early if there is a question. Overall, you won’t be sorry for hiring Morgado Construction. Joe and Eric bring skill, integrity, and genuine care to their work, and our home is beautiful thanks to them.

Joe and his team are absolutely fabulous from quoting to recommending architects and structural engineers who can get the all the permits needed to start work. Once the work starts Joe and Eric ensure the agreed timelines are met and quality of the work is outstanding. They maybe a bit on the higher side but every penny is worth it. Joe will take all the pressure off you , you can just sit back and watch he and his team work their magic to ensure a dream remodel or new construction with attention to detail. Highly recommend Morgado construction.

Joe and his crew did amazing professional work. if you want the job done right first time call them!! Joe will give you all the information and facts upfront he is incredibly knowledgeable. We used joe’s company for several issues around our home from plumbing issues in our kitchen to electricals, gas leaks and major black mold wall and baseboards problems. Joe has always explained clearly to me the steps of what would need to be done and how it was gonna be done. He took the time to show me what happened to cause it. They took the time to explain to me what he was going to do to fix it. So it wouldn’t happen again. When he is explaining the situation of what’s going on he takes his time and doesn’t rush and make sure you understand all the steps I appreciate that a lot. If you have any issues big or small call this company I guarantee you will never regret it.

FAQs

Evergreen kitchen remodeling FAQs

Still have a question? Schedule a site visit and we will walk through your kitchen with you.

Yes. Morgado Building and Renovation provides kitchen remodeling services throughout Evergreen, including the areas near Evergreen Village Square, the Silver Creek tracts and the foothill adjacent streets further east.

It depends on when and where the home was built. Older single story homes closer to the flats often still have their original closed off kitchen footprint. Larger two story homes built from the late 1980s onward, particularly around Silver Creek, usually have more room to work with already. We assess your specific layout before recommending changes.

In many cases, yes. This is one of the more common requests we get in Evergreen, especially in the older single story homes. We review the wall in question, check whether it is load bearing and plan the structural, electrical and finishing work needed to open the space properly.

Some do, especially when the project involves plumbing, electrical work, gas lines or structural changes such as removing a wall. We help identify what needs a permit before construction begins.

It depends on the size and complexity of the project. A cabinet and countertop refresh takes less time than a full remodel involving a layout change, new plumbing and electrical work. Larger Evergreen homes often mean larger scopes, and we give you a realistic timeline once the scope is defined.

Yes. This comes up regularly in Evergreen. It usually means planning for two people cooking at once, extra pantry and bulk storage, a second prep zone and a layout that keeps whoever is cooking connected to the rest of the family.

Yes. Foothill adjacent homes can bring extra considerations around slope, site access for deliveries and trades, and occasionally structural questions. We factor those in during site review rather than discovering them mid project.

A well planned kitchen remodel can improve functionality, aesthetic appeal and home value, particularly when the layout, materials and finishes are chosen carefully for the home and the local market. Buyers in Evergreen tend to pay attention to finish quality.

Yes. Morgado can coordinate kitchen and bathroom remodeling when both spaces are part of a larger renovation. This helps align trades, materials, timelines and overall design.

Contact Morgado Building and Renovation to discuss your Evergreen kitchen remodel and the best next step. We will review your goals, scope, location and the level of planning required before construction begins.
